Helsinki & Medellín, (December 13th) – Revieve®, a personalized digital brand experience company for the beauty, skin, health and wellness categories co-headquartered in Chicago and Helsinki has partnered with Beautycalia, the first beauty eCommerce platform in Colombia powered by AI, founded by two seasoned entrepreneurs from the skincare industry in Latin America. 

Beautycalia was born to provide access and awareness to a large population which so far has been overlooked by most of the skincare industry in Colombia. Beautycalia understood from scratch that Integrating new technologies were crucial to pave the way to educate their audience about the importance of following a conscious skincare regime in their daily life. Selected as one of the most impactful entrepreneurial ventures by Bancolombia in 2021, this innovative beauty e-commerce platform aims to provide a memorable shopping experience to its customers.

"In Colombia, only 5% of the population can visit a dermatologist or skincare professional regularly. On most occasions, they do it when they already have a concern. Given this, we propose a virtual analysis of the skin so that people can prevent conditions in their skin and act promptly to correct things such as excess oil, hyperpigmentation, and lack of hydration, among others", explains Juan Franco Cippitelli, co-founder of Beautycalia.

To receive an in-depth skincare analysis and customized product recommendations, visitors to Beautycalia's website can take or upload a selfie and answer a few questions about their skin type and concerns. Revieve's proprietary computer vision technology then analyzes more than 120 skin metrics to provide users with an in-depth analysis of their skin and deliver product recommendations and skincare advice tailored to their needs.

"Most users don't know what problem they have with their skin, even their skin type. After using the experience, we've observed that the skin analysis informs users that they don't exactly have an acne problem. Still, instead, it's more about excess fat, which can be remedied with a product that regulates its generation and hydrates skin properly. Or some believe that they have combination skin when their skin is rather dry, and it is something that can be corrected very quickly", explains Juan Oliva, VP of Marketing at Revieve.

Beautycalia was launched in September of this year. Since then, it has sought to democratize beauty experiences, encouraging both men and women of all ages to check their skin with the confidentiality provided by the platform. "We want to change the mindset of people in the use of skin care products; Ideally, they first learn what skincare they require and then choose which product can help them, according to the recommendations that the platform gives them. This means completely changing the customer journey. Today it works the other way around, and they find it frustrating to buy beauty routines for their skin without knowing if they are going to achieve their goals", Cippitelli points out.
