Transforming Digital Beauty Experiences
Tokyo, Japan - [September 17, 2026] - Revieve®, the intelligence layer behind modern beauty and wellness commerce, today announced the live implementation of its AI-powered Skincare Advisor in Japan through its partnership with palplat Inc., a Japanese beauty-tech company operating personalized beauty and HR platforms specialized in the cosmetics and beauty industry. The solution is now being used at MakeMe Salon as part of professional counseling sessions for customers who have booked personalized makeup lesson appointments.
The MakeMe Salon x Revieve experience brings skin diagnostics into the consultation process, helping beauty professionals build each makeup session around a more complete understanding of the customer's skin. Initiated by the counseling professional on the salon's tablet device, the experience combines quiz-based skin inputs with detailed selfie analysis to generate a personalized diagnostic report. The report gives customers and professionals a clear visual summary of the customer's skin profile, including an overall skin evaluation, skin age estimate, category-level scores, and detailed insights that can support guidance around skin preparation, product selection, application techniques, and the customer's broader beauty goals.
The AI technology behind the solution is fueled by Revieve's proprietary computer vision, which assesses over 120 skin metrics to provide highly accurate and customized skincare insights for every user. Customers can also save their results as a PDF or scan a QR code to keep the report on their smartphone, extending the value of the consultation beyond the salon visit.
For palplat Inc. and MakeMe Salon, the implementation strengthens the value proposition of professional makeup lesson appointments by making the counseling experience more personalized, educational, and insight-led from the start. By incorporating AI-powered skin diagnostics into the service, MakeMe Salon can offer customers a more differentiated beauty experience that supports customer satisfaction and creates a stronger path from interest to booking.
"Makeup counseling becomes more meaningful when it starts with a deeper understanding of the customer's skin," said Takuya Matsuda, CEO of palplat Inc. "By introducing Revieve's Skincare Advisor into MakeMe Salon's professional counseling sessions, we are able to give customers a more personalized and educational experience while supporting the makeup professionals with clearer diagnostic insights. This strengthens the value of the makeup lesson services and creates a more distinctive first experience for new customers."
"Professional makeup consultation is most powerful when artistry is supported by a strong understanding of the individual customer's skin," said Sampo Parkkinen, CEO and Co-Founder at Revieve. "This project with palplat Inc. shows how Revieve's Beauty Commerce Intelligence Platform can bring AI-powered skin intelligence into the hands of beauty professionals, helping them deliver more personalized, confident, and valuable guidance during the consultation."
The launch builds on Revieve and palplat Inc.'s existing partnership, established as part of Revieve's expansion in Japan. With the MakeMe Salon implementation, Revieve and palplat Inc. are demonstrating how AI-powered diagnostics can enhance high-touch beauty services - helping professionals better understand each customer, helping customers better understand their skin, and helping service providers create more meaningful and personalized consultation experiences.
